About the Sellmer Klinik
The Sellmer Clinic exists because we want to fulfil your desire to have children.
The Sellmer Clinic has been helping childless people, many of whom come to us from abroad, since 2011.
In 2021, the clinic expanded its range of treatments from inseminations to IVF treatments, and since then we have focussed primarily on egg donation and double donation treatment.
Every day is dedicated to helping our patients become happy parents. We can hopefully fulfil this wish for you by making egg donation or double donation possible with us.
With us, it is possible to choose either an ID release donation or a NO ID release donation, and this applies to both egg donation and sperm donation.
We welcome you as a single person and you as a couple – you do not need to be married for this, and obstacles such as notarization do not prevent you from starting treatment soon with an egg or double donation. We take our work and your duty as parents very seriously, but we do not make the journey to your child an unnecessarily difficult one.
We are open every day, including public holidays and weekends. In this way, we create the ideal conditions for egg donation and the associated treatments to take place at exactly the right time.
Maybe your egg donor will donate on Christmas morning? This is not impossible with us.
The donors who donate at the Sellmer Clinic are young women whose fertility and health have been thoroughly examined. Their reason for donating is also close to our hearts, because we know that it means a lot to you too.
Our head physician is Dr Mohamed Khalil
Dr Mohamed Khalil has been a doctor in the field of gynecology and obstetrics since 1997 and became a specialist in 2010. He has been working in the fertility clinic sector for almost 15 years, as this area has always been very close to his heart.
Together with our egg donation coordinators and the Sellmer Clinic team, he will ensure that you have an optimal egg donation process with us.
In addition to Dr Khalil, we have another permanently employed doctor, Dr PhD. Laurids Bune, who incidentally speaks German.
Our lead egg donation coordinator is nurse Sanne Drabæk
You can also coordinate the preparations with her, and she will do her best to find an ideal match for you. A preparatory consultation for egg donation can take place online or at the clinic, and if it is to be in German, we will find an appointment with Laurids for you or book a colleague to help with the language. Such a consultation costs €140.
The fertility coordinators Nina, Benedikte and Juliane all speak fluent German and are happy to deal with your inquiries, either by phone, email or on site at the clinic.
You will hear from our 3 embryologists when they are ready to tell you the number of eggs retrieved. 2 days later, you will also hear from the laboratory because they will then inform you about the fertilisation of the eggs.
In addition to German, the staff at Sellmer Clinic speak Danish, English, French and Arabic, and we also understand Norwegian and Swedish quite well.
What distinguishes the Sellmer Klinik from others?
At the Sellmer Clinic, we know that both the donor and the recipient of an egg are in a special situation. This involves plenty of thoughts and feelings, and we make every effort to ensure that both parties feel well looked after and seen.
Important information about egg donation at the Sellmer Clinic
The egg donors donate directly at the clinic. In Denmark, it is not permitted to freeze unfertilised eggs for use by other women, which is why there is no regular card index, as a match between donor and recipient is always made specifically at a time when she is willing and able to donate and when the recipient is ready. Therefore, only the donors who are currently ready to donate are considered, so the selection is constantly changing.
If an egg is donated by an egg donor at the clinic and a sperm sample with a sperm quality of over 2 million/ml is used, we guarantee a blastocyst.
We aim to donate 6 to 10 eggs per egg recipient. In very rare cases, the donor develops so many eggs that we split the donation into two donations.
It is highly unlikely, but never completely out of the question.
There is both the ID Release and the NO ID Release donation category.
